In February 2000 we left the cold and the snow in Ottawa for a six week bike tour through Guatemala and Belize. Being just by ourselves without a schedule or reservations we enjoyed the landscape, the friendly people and the old Mayan ruins that are scattered over these countries. We flew with our mountain bikes to Guatemala city. As we were reading the Rough Guide along the way, we decided to make a side tour by local busses to Honduras to see the ruins of Copán. In the end we stayed one week on Caye Caulker, an island on the coast of Belize to relax and do some scuba diving before returning home. Have a look at a few of the pictures that we took along the way.
